What dutching does

Dutching splits one total stake across several mutually exclusive outcomes so that each selected outcome produces approximately the same gross return. Enter two to four decimal prices and the total amount you want to distribute.

The calculator weights each stake by the inverse of its odds. Shorter prices receive a larger share and longer prices receive a smaller share. It then reports the equalised gross return and the net profit or loss if any one of the covered outcomes wins.

Why equal return does not always mean profit

If the combined implied probability of the selected prices is above 100%, equalising the payout can still produce a guaranteed loss. Dutching is a staking method, not automatically an arbitrage strategy. Compare the combined implied percentage with 100% before interpreting the result.

Practical checks

• Only combine outcomes that cannot win at the same time.
• Use the exact prices available when the stakes are placed.
• Allow for exchange commission or bookmaker-specific deductions separately where they apply.
• Keep the total exposure inside your normal bankroll limit.
