Calculate an each-way return

An each-way bet is normally two equal bets: one on the selection to win and one on it to place. Enter the stake per part, the win price, the place fraction denominator and whether the selection won, placed without winning, or lost.

If the place terms are one quarter of the win odds, enter 4. The place portion uses 1 + (win odds – 1) / 4 as its decimal return price. A winning selection pays both the win and place parts; a place-only result pays only the place part.

Total stake matters

A displayed each-way stake of 500 per part means a total outlay of 1,000. The calculator always reports the combined total stake, gross return and net profit or loss so the two-part structure is clear.

Check the bookmaker’s place terms

The number of places, dead-heat deductions, non-runner rules and place fraction vary by event and bookmaker. This calculator uses the place fraction you enter but cannot determine whether a selection qualified for a place under a particular market’s rules.
